The Alphastone Project - a new approach to IT

IT support services and how web services are managed needs to change dramatically.

With more of the world becoming connected, and households on average having two or three devices which access
the web, where do you turn when a problem arises? It may not be financially feasable to buy a new computer system, but it may be needed for homework, a commercial business or to communicate with friends and family.

Computer-based systems are also becoming the standard in the office. Gone are the days of filing work in an intray or sealing a manilla envelope. You are now responsible for sending that document via email. What if your email never gets there? It may never have left your workstation, or could have been sent to the wrong department.

Community-based IT projects

The Alphastone project stems from the IT support figure in the north Bristol region. Bringing experience, expertise
and knowledge, it is hoping to spearhead a series of new and challenging projects for the local community in the
year of 2012.

A distributed-computing project by the name of "Gamma Project" is to be drawn up in the months ahead, with a press release being written in early next year. This aims to be the first of many innovative projects which will draw upon support from the local community in an effort to benefit IT infrastructure, understanding and confidence in the surrounding area. The end aim of these projects will be to inform and support the area in problems that stem from an IT nature.
